Description
Located 500 meters from the beach in Malo Park, the Dunkirk Aquarium showcases a beautiful diversity of aquatic flora and fauna. Our freshwater aquariums are home to piranhas and turtles, among other species. The tropical marine aquariums house species such as pufferfish, surgeonfish, and clownfish, as well as corals. Finally, our North Sea aquariums recreate the ecosystem found nearby and are home to species like the small-spotted catshark and the blenny. Currently, around thirty freshwater species and approximately 120 saltwater species inhabit our aquariums. A display case is dedicated to showcasing seashells from our coastline, and educational programs are offered to schools and leisure centers throughout the year. Open since 1978, the Aquarium welcomes more than 40,000 visitors annually. In case of high winds, Malo Park and therefore the aquarium are closed. Thank you for your understanding.
