In the heart of Dunkirk's city centre stands Saint Eloi Church, a witness to the vicissitudes of history.
In the heart of the city stands the Church of Saint Eloi, a witness to the upheavals of history. One of the city's most beautiful buildings! Its construction, in the Flamboyant Gothic style, began in the 16th century after a previous building burned down. Its Neo-Gothic facade dates from 1894. Observe it closely; you will notice the numerous marks left by the last wars. The church's chancel houses the tomb of Jean Bart. The church is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mass is celebrated on Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. and on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
