The Maritime and Port Museum welcomes you in the heart of the historic Citadel district, in a former 19th century tobacco warehouse.
Through rich collections spread over three levels and within the spectacular "Musée à flot", embark on a journey to discover the history of the port of Dunkirk, from the 17th century to the present day. A visit to the Risban lighthouse, a historic monument located 2 kilometres from the museum, will complete your exploration of the city's maritime and port history, with an unforgettable 360° view of the North Sea and maritime Flanders.

In the course of a unique tour with a warm and enveloping atmosphere, you will discover the portrait of the famous privateer Jean Bart, exceptional figureheads, the epic of the great Icelandic fishery, remarkable models of ships, but also picturesque dioramas and surprising panoramic paintings, or a vast technical gallery illustrating the handling trades.
