Zuydcoote, a relaxing stroll
Between nature and History
Most people associate me with a famous french film... But here is where even time stops to rest for a bit, offering the visitors the opportunity to enjoy my beach, my authentic, wild seafront, and my breath-taking view of the North Sea.
My ocean air has been helping people recharge their batteries for more than a century. So, relax, take a deep breath and re-oxygenate your brain!
In late July, my offbeat costumed sea bathing event revives the styles of yesteryear, evoking our shared seaside memories. So, throw off the fetters of time and come join us!
At low tide, the beach reveals its secrets and you can see the shipwrecks from the Second World War. The wreck of the Crested Eagle, a British paddle steamer which took part to Operation Dynamo, lies just off the beach.
The Vonette and Devonia, which ran aground on the beach in 1929 and 1940, are also visible.
