Fine Arts Museum Dunkirk

The Dunkirk Musée des Beaux-Arts offers an unusual approach to its impressive collections; it lets you explore works that bring together traditional and contemporary art, fine arts and science, western art and non-European ethnography, on various themes that are renewed regularly.

Thanks to its wealth of Flemish, Dutch, French and Italian paintings from the 18th century, such as Alessandro Magnasco's "Adoration of the Magi", or Hyacinthe Rigaud's "Jeune Nègre tenant un arc", its collection of over 20,000 pieces of natural history, minerals, stuffed animals, etc., and over 4000 objects from continents worldwide, the museum offers a unique approach to its collections.

Exploring these works is an experience of traditional and contemporary art, a clever combination of fine arts and sciences, a cocktail of western art and non-European ethnography.
