The Flandre Maritime CPIE (Permanent Environmental Initiatives Centre) is an association which brings together citizens and volunteers from the Dunkirk area around a common project :
To raise environmental awareness and carry out environmental education and teaching initiatives, to preserve a convivial environment within the association, to be a player in local development, to defend, safeguard and watch out for the environment.
The 600 hectares of dune belts in Dunes de Flandre...and the neighbouring Belgian coastline, constitute a formidable area for discovery where the CPIE Flandre Maritime offers: 'Dune haversacks' to discover the dunes as a family, walking circuits either independently or with a guide or theme... and also volunteer nature guide training for the most enthusiastic (and concerned).

A potted history: the ADEELI (Association for the Development of Coastal Environmental Education) was founded in 1985, its vocation being to coordinate coastal environmental education tools structured around an approach to the dune and coastal environment, polders and wetlands for all audiences. By January 2010, the association had 10 employees, with its actions strengthened in particular by volunteers. CPIE Flandre Maritime brings together more than 120 members, 89 of whom are active members. All of them participate in the management and development of the association's project. Volunteers contribute actively to its actions and come together for its events.
